Volunteer
From packing groceries to helping at community events, our volunteers help power every part of our work. We simply couldn’t do it without them. Interested in making a difference? Get involved below.

Who can join
Thank you for choosing to make a difference in the Lower East Side community! Volunteers are at the heart of everything UA3 does. Their dedication and energy make it possible to serve thousands of New Yorkers with essential meals and support each month.
UA3 welcomes individuals, families, schools, companies, and community groups to join volunteer days and make a direct impact in the neighborhoods it serves, from packing groceries to assisting with community events.
Use the individual and group volunteer form (opens in a new tab) to ask about current roles, age requirements, accessibility, scheduling, and group capacity.
Youth employment
UA3 welcomes young people who want hands-on experience addressing food insecurity to ask about current Summer Youth Employment Program (SYEP) opportunities. SYEP participants can earn income, build workplace skills, and contribute to their community alongside the UA3 team.
Placements and responsibilities vary by season and program availability. Young people who care about food access and community service are especially encouraged to explore whether UA3 is a good fit.
